After having done quite a few renovations on HDB maisonettes, I've come to realise how big a maisonette is compared to 3 room, 4 room or even 5 room HDB flats. Firstly, there's a dedicated living and dining area. The yard or balcony is so big that it's the size of a regular room. Some even comes with a study room on the lower floor instead of a utility room which is smaller. There's more storage under the stairs, the kitchen is super huge and there's 3 bedrooms upstairs!
Not to mention that if you are urgent, there are 3 WCs in the flat for 3 different persons to use at the same time.
I guess if you are planning to have many children or have a 3 generation family, a maisonette is definitely the flat to consider buying.
