DIY Shoulder Leather Bag with studs
Studs have been making the rage this whole year since the beginning. And i admit i'm a sucker for it.
Many a times i was almost tempted to buy a studded bag, but resisted. Seeing me being so tempted yet wanting to save money and refusing to buy one for myself, hubs decided to make one for me!!!!
we went down to people's park complex one day with my parents and chanced upon this shop that sells studs! So hubs bought 2 packets and over the Vesak Long Weekend, he spent 2 days and 2 evenings, drawing, sketching, planning, sewing, hammering and even poked his finger with the needle.
*heart winced*
I'm proud to show everyone here the finished product, hand sewn lovingly by my hubs!!!

Stirling HDB Terrace - IKEA summer collection Flamingo shower curtain
Remember last week i was raving about how much i love this summer's flamingo prints from IKEA?
Well, since i do not need a shower curtain in my bathroom and this flamingo print one from IKEA is really too cute to give it a miss. I decided to change my marimekko DIY curtain away and put this one up instead.
just for this summer.
have you gotten your IKEA summer items yet?

Stirling HDB Terrace - DIY Balloon Chairs . Another IKEA HACK
Was showing one of my clients the other day of my DIY projects - Balloon Chair and I realised that I only posted on the finished look but not the process!!!
So here goes!
So here goes!
Step 1: You need a stool, children's one preferably so that the surface area is small and you don't have to tie too many balloons. You will also need at least 2 packets of long balloons, those for balloon craft making. Lastly, you need sheer patience and perseverance.
Step 2: Here is how the long balloons look like
Step 3: You will need to tie them up to form a string of balloons.
step 4: we did the legs first, slowly wrapping the string of balloons. Moving from bottom upwards.
step 5: once all the 4 legs of the stool are done, we moved on to the top base of the stool
step 6: wrapping all the way
step 7: continue to wrap the seat pan of the stool

DIY - Weekend Project IKEA HACK BILLY Bookshelf
Like everyone else, I too have an IKEA billy bookcase. White and clean. Neat and tidy. To put all my books. Then one day I saw this floral print sticker and I LOVE IT so much that i wanted to have it in part of my home, just not sure where.. especially it's such a girly thing. Then i realised that I have a study corner all to myself and I'm pretty sure I could use it somewhere.
and here it is.
and I didn't buy enough of the sticker!!! So i will have to go back to the shop and get some more.
will post my process photos soon.
stay tune!

Stirling HDB Terrace - More stuff from Franc Franc
over the weekend, i went shopping again!!! It's the Great Singapore Sale come on!!! But i was quite restrained with my buys already, or so i think. From Franc Franc, i bought a really cute accessory holder and some hand towels. And that's it.
then from IKEA, I bought a pack of 2 tea towels (polka dots!!! my favourite prints.) a tealight holder which i'm going to hack it into something else, a book rack, a pot of cactus, 2 pots of money plants really cheap. One pot is only $1.50.
so stay tune for their transformation!

Stirling HDB Terrace - DIY planter Part 2 - Spraying our initials
After we did our planter box. We took another afternoon to paint the "cut" sides dark brown so that it will look neater. Now it's time to put our initials down!
step 1: things that you need
spray mount
White spray paint
masking tape
Initials cut out (printed with my printer)
newspaper
here's a look at the BEFORE!
step 3: spray mount the cut out, use masking tape on all 4 sides with newspapers, cos you don't want the ends to be white.
step 4: spray!

Stirling HDB Terrace - DIY Painting our Sundeck chairs!
Many weekends ago, we adopted 2 summer sundeck chairs from our friendly neighbour and decided to give it a good paint job. However before we can start painting, we will need to sand down the chairs and buy the paint, brushes and turpentine.
Step 1: Sanding your chairs.
You will need:
Sandpaper, Patience and one afternoon's time off.
You will need:
Sandpaper, Patience and one afternoon's time off.
step 2: good to have a mask. sanding has lots of dust flying around. if you dun have, then use a hankie like hubs here. make sure hankie is fashionable!!! You never known when you will be photographed!!!
step 3: sanding. Use the rough one to sand away the lacquer first before using a fine sandpaper to smoothen.
step 4: Things you require to paint. quite idiot proof actually.
- newspapers
- paint
- brushes
- turpentine
- another afternoon time off
step 5 & 6: you need a quality checker on site to make sure that the chairs are all sand down properly and the paint job is done correctly and properly. Best to make quality checker sit on chair to see whether his butt feels smooth or not.
step 7: Quality checker looking at worker, making sure the worker stirs the paint evenly before painting.
step 8: this is the paint colour that we have chosen. We are just in love with TEAL at the moment.
Remember to choose a paint that is meant for wood/metal.

step 9: This is the BEFORE look.
Lay the newspapers before paint job. as there will be drips and splashes.

step 10: first coat of paint
step 11: first coat of paint done, let it dry. While the first sundeck chair is let to dry, we started painting our second sundeck chair
step 12: second coat of paint.
step 13: second coat of paint to dry
step 14: touching up.
Now I have a list to complete the overall look for my summer patio.
I hope i manage to get them soon!!!

Stirling HDB Terrace - DIY Laundry Decal
it's weekend again and it's time for more DIY in the house!
I customised my own design and ordered these decals from an online store.
It took about 4 working days before it arrived at my doorstep. And so it's time for some DIY this saturday morning.
Step 1: First you will need a cutting mat and a penknife to cut them into groups. It's much easier to stick smaller parts then to stick one big piece at one go.
step 2: you will also need a credit card or something flat to "rub" the decal against your wall or glass. In our case, we are using our Kopitiam discount card. :)I customised my own design and ordered these decals from an online store.

step 3: clean the area which you are going to put your decal on. Make sure that it is free from dust, dirt, anything. The surface area should be clean and smooth.
step 4: lay the cut pieces onto the wall or glass one by one
step 5: This is how it looks after piecing all the cut pieces together. Next we will need to use the credit card or the flat surface to rub the decal firmly onto the wall or glass.
step 6: gently remove the backing from an angle.
step 7: keep going for the rest of all the other cut pieces.
step 8: see...we are almost done now...leaving the last row now.
step 9: Finished!
this is how it looks from afar with my helper and son at the corner.
